Getting Past your Past, Book Review by Francine Shapiro

Francine Shapiro the founder of EMDR has written a book that is very “user friendly” in explaining and offering self help techniques for applying EMDR Therapy to yourself.  The Book is Getting Past Your Past, Take Control of your Life with Self-Help Techniques from EMDR Therapy.  

For those who know that their past experiences are affecting their current function and experience in relationships and life, but who may not be quite ready to sit down with a EMDR therapist this book is a great read.  It not only gives an understandable explanation of the effects of trauma, but also offer ways to apply some of the techniques of EMDR on your own.
